Valentin I. Prokhorenko |
Valentin was born on the 1st of May in the Ukraine. He studied physics at the National Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv and did his PhD in Physics at the Institute of Physics National Acadamy of Science. His scientific work was so successful, that he is a laureate of the Ukrainian State prize in the field of science and engineering for: ”Development of physical basis, research and design of high stable lasers and laser systems for the fundamental investigations, metrology and analytical applications”. He founded the industrial company "Dynamic Ltd." for the application of original research results and patents for design and manufacturing of lasers & laser systems, optical components for the different scientific applications and satellite laser ranging and was the General Director. Then he went to the Max Planck Institute for Bioinorganic Chemistry in Muelheim/Ruhr. He worked there for seven years and went after that to the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where he stayed for a year. In 2004 he went to the University of Toronto, after he finished working on his own NWO project. He is working there in the Miller Group. Elena E. Prokhorenko |
Elena was born on the 7th of January to Mr. and Mrs. Gribenjuk in the Ukraine. She studied physics at the National Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv and worked until 1996 as an Senior - engineer in microelectronics. She is working now at the Ruhr - University Bochum in the Institute of Statistics, Department of Mathematics.

Helena V. Prokhorenko |
Helena was born on June the 14th, 1991 in Kiev, Ukraine. She attended the Otto - Pankok - Gymnasium in 2001. She plays the violin and was concertmaster of the KSO ("Kleines Streich Orchester"), Concertino and JSO ("Jugend Sinfonie Orchester" = Young Sinfonie Orchestra). She was also part of the Bredeneyer Schulorchester. |
